We believe in an ethic, organic way of living. There is a Japanese word, saho, that combines the ideas of faith and elegance, engagement and beauty, responsibility and manners.
In Japan, people treat each other with respect when interacting, placing importance on courtesy. Valuing courtesy is also a part of the manners (saho) that let people live enjoyably with each other.
As indicated in words like “demeanor,” certain rules exist for behavior and etiquette. Following these rules leads to pleasant living and beautiful gestures.
We believe that courtesy and manners in everyday living are what enhance people’s lifestyles for a comfortable, organic life.
SaFo expresses perfectly the concept behind each item of the brand, encouraging a more careful and refined attitude on our ways of consuming. Using exclusively hand harvested high quality organic textiles, all products have a delicate texture and a soft touch.
ORGANIC TEXTILE
In our aim to create a true global brand, we acquired Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) international organic certification from the global certification organization ECOCERT, soon after the release of the standards.
The acquisition of GOTS certification demonstrates that traceability is ensured in all processes, ranging from raw materials to the products, and that the absence of harmful substances and chemicals has been confirmed, for safety and peace of mind.
We are one of the few bedding companies in the world to have acquired GOTS certification.

SaFo pillows are made of non-fluorescent, non-dyed and non-bleached organic cotton for both fabric and stuffing.
As it uses cotton with excellent water absorption capability, you can use it without fear of night sweats. If you are concerned about the humidity, expose the pillows to sunlight to make them dry quickly.
The smooth texture of the cotton will softly wrap your head for a comfortable daily use. The R size is a small organic pillow that we recommend for smaller bodies and the L size is a standard size comfortable organic pillow.

Designed to be simply handled, pillow covers are light and soft, does not wrinkle and are easy to wash. The raw material, organic cotton, is free of harmful chemicals even during the production process.
The R size is a slightly smaller cover for pillows, designed as an envelope (hotel type) without a fastener. It can be set neatly by inserting a pillow inside the cover and sliding the mouth along the tall edges.

A thin mattress that supports the body using “bird nest” highly functional technology. The hardness of the structure is controlled by densifiyng fibers around the areas under pressure, susceptible to collapse.
While improving comfort and durability, this material has a high resilience and an excellent body pressure dispersion. Considering more than 90% of the mattress is composed of air, the whole structure can breathe efficiently and even while supporting a body. At any season, the mattress does not retain heat. In addition, considering there is no space for mites to settle, you can expect the mattress to have a mites-preventing effect. The polyethylene used for SaFo mattress is a material that is usually found in food containers, can be recycled and does not generate harmful dioxin when burned.
Bird’s nest mattress includes a removable organic cotton cover with an L-shaped zipper. The covers can be machine washed and the mattress can be washed in the shower at home.
After washing, lean the mattress in a well ventilated space and it will dry in 1-2 hours.

CATIONS
ECOCERT is an international organic certification organization based in Toulouse, France. Since its establishment in 1991, ECOCERT created 26 offices around the world and provide organic certification in 158 countries. Certifications include agricultural products, processed foods, livestock products, cosmetics, cotton and many more. GOTS and OCS are the typical textile certifications.
GOTS is Global Organic Textile Standard certification that guarantees organic textiles by an international certification body. It is required that all production processes are using raw materials that have been certified by organic farming in accordance with EU ECC regulations or US NOP regulations. GOTS products must contain more than 70% certified organic fiber, and strict conditions are applied such as restrictions on the use of chemicals and compliance with social norms.
OCS 100 is Organic Content Standard certified for organic products. It guarantees traceability of all processes from raw material production to final products using organic farming certification according to EU regulations or USDA/NOP certification of the US. OCS 100 allows for transparent, consistent and comprehensive independent evaluation and verification of organic material content claims on products. It covers products containing 95-100% organic material.
OCS Blended is Organic Content Standard certified for organic products. Regarding organic production, traceability (production history of all processes) from raw material production to final products using organic farming certification in accordance with EU regulations or USDA/NOP (certification of USDA Tracking) is guaranteed. OCS Blended covers products containing 95-100% organic material.

We manufacture and sell bedding products using certified organic cotton.
In our aim to create a true global brand and a 100% organic production with only 20 employees, we acquired certifications from ECOCERT. We are thoroughly committed to establish an effective traceability system, informing the number of each lot in every product and performing black lighting inspections to ensure that there is no contamination by chemicals in all processes. A careful management of all subcontractors is monitored with confirmation surveys.

Takumi Shimamura won various awards such as the Japan Good Design Award. Since April, 2015, he produces gift item such handy ceramic coffee mill, real wooden tablemat, various wooden items, all hand made in Japan.
